Norse Energi joins DEME fleet
DEME has taken delivery of its second new wind turbine installation vessel, Norse Energi, reinforcing its capabilities in wind turbine installation and offshore renewables.
The vessel was delivered from the CIMC Raffles Shipyard and is the sister vessel to Norse Wind, which was recently delivered and is currently en route to Europe to begin windfarm operations.
DEME describes the two vessels as helping to create a new standard for WTIVs.
Purpose-built
Purpose-built for large-scale offshore renewables projects, Norse Energi has been designed to support the installation of the next generation of offshore wind turbines through advanced engineering and high-capacity lifting systems.
The vessel build reflects DEME’s strategy to expand its dedicated offshore wind installation fleet as turbine sizes and project complexity continue to increase.
Norse Energi features advanced technology, exceptional lifting and loading capabilities, and sustainable design features intended to improve efficiency and operational performance across offshore wind projects.
Designed by GustoMSC, Norse Energi mirrors the specifications of Norse Wind, with both vessels positioned among the most advanced WTIVs currently in operation.
Together, the vessels are expected to reinforce DEME’s position at the forefront of offshore wind installation and the wider offshore renewables market.
Both vessels are already contracted for offshore wind projects in Europe and are scheduled to enter service in the first half of 2026.
Their deployment will support the installation of increasingly large wind turbines, underlining the growing importance of specialised vessel build programmes in enabling the next phase of offshore renewables development.
