RS finger on the Pulse with two electric RIB deliveries

The two RIBs have been delivered to the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA), where they will be used to support events and coaching.

The deliveries are two of 15 electric workboats being introduced to 10 UK sites with help from the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round funded by the UK Department for Transport.

RS Electric Boats is leading the project with RAD Propulsion, Aqua SuperPower and Cheetah Marine.

Phil Horton, Environment & Sustainability Manager at the Royal Yachting Association, also took delivery of their Pulse 63 at WPNSA.

“With increasing interest across the sector in electric drive technology, we’re excited to be testing the RS Pulse 63 as part of our work towards the introduction of electric propulsion for coach and safety boats,” he said.

RS Electric Boats is part of the RS Marine Group, which designs, manufactures and distributes commercial, leisure and racing boats. Other companies in the group include RS Sailing and Cheetah Marine.
