Aquabotix to show SwarmDiver at ANTX 2019
Aquabotix will demonstrate its technology at the Advanced Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) 2019 event to enable the US Navy to observe the future of naval technology in action.
The United States Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWC) has announced the theme for ANTX 2019 is ‘Prepare For Battle: Undersea Security’ or ‘US 19’ for short. Aquabotix is seeking approval to demonstrate a use case for its SwarmDiver system.
Industry innovators involved in developing cutting edge technologies and naval robotics will participate in key tasks include identifying science, technologies and future concepts that explore and interact with the maritime domain, connecting assets from the seafloor to space and ensuring their security, in order to deliver data to the US forces.
The focus of ANTX 2018 was ‘Human Machine Interaction’ and Aquabotix conducted an exercise, coordinating efforts between its SwarmDiver and Integra vehicles with remote operation.
The demonstration highlighted the use case for a coordinated approach and encircling of targets with SwarmDivers as well as the autonomous capabilities of the Integra vehicle.
Aquabotix said the event was instrumental in enabling it to initiate commercial discussions with multiple potential government end-users and larger defence companies.
2019’s event will be conducted as a collaboration between Division Newport, the Commander, Navy Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC), and the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA).
