PLA Holds Even
The Port of London Authority has reported overall trade figures for 2003 which are very similar to 2002, with the total volume of trade down from 51.2 million tonnes to 51.0 million tonnes.
The 80m LOA Terra Marique is some 20 times longer than the smallest Ally Duck, but the two vessels share seawork common ground in addressing the requirements of European commercial marine operators, contractors and project managers.
The PLA achieved an operating surplus of £433,000, much improved on the 2002 deficit of £89,000 and turnover was up from £32.3m to £32.8m.
