Ready to work survey boat at Europort
DutchWorkboats BV and Stema Systems BV introduced the Fast Surveyboat 7.50, fitted with fully calibrated survey equipment, at Europort 2013 in Rotterdam this month.
This so called ’Survey-machine’ is ready to be productive as soon as it is on location, enabling surveyors to keep ahead of dredging, deliver contract surveys in time, and survey several projects in a day.
‘Survey-machine’ is an elaborate concept of a trailerable, fast, and comfortable survey boat, with built-in and calibrated high end survey tools. Surveyors save a lot of work on mounting and calibrating survey gear and on the time needed for reaching the project location.
The Fast Survey boat 7.50 by DutchWorkboats provides turbulence free water flow around two moonpools, allowing multi-beam survey speeds up to 30km/h. Weighing in at 2,700kg, including survey equipment, gives operational scope for mobilisation on a standard road trailer or as survey support vessel on a dredger. It is also capable of being a fast mob/demob survey or crew change vessel, with a maximum speed of 45km/h. A spacious and comfortable cabin, with lots of workspace for 2 or 3 crew, is equipped with suspension seats, autopilot, air conditioning and heating. Well designed mounts for survey equipment result in minimal requirement for alignments.
Survey equipment delivered by Stema Systems enables integration of a wide choice of hydrographic sensors from suppliers such as R2Sonic, Ixblue, Oxts, AML, Valeport, Teledyne Odom, and Stema Systems itself, all completely installed, calibrated, and with training provided. The result is a turn-key survey vessel ready to work, giving operators the accustomed ‘Plug & Play’ feel which allows them to focus on collecting and processing data. Permanently placed sensors minimise misalignment, recalibration and the required experience of the on board surveyor. Single person operation is completely possible.
