Seawork International 2018 gets a need for speed
This year’s Seawork International exhibition will feature an add-on event specifically geared towards the growth and development for the design, build and operation of high-speed vessels.
Speed@Seawork is a dedicated two-day event which will be held from Monday 2 July, running in parallel with the main Seawork 2018 exhibition that takes place 3 to 5 July at Mayflower park, Southampton, UK.
“Speed@Seawork aims to bring them together to trial equipment in diverse sea states, share best practice and make the connections and innovations needed for high-speed critical operations to be a success,” said Andrew Webster, CEO of Seawork organiser Mercator Media.
Specialist sector
Fast vessels operating at high speed for security interventions and Search and Rescue are a significant specialist sector of the commercial marine business. As operating demands increase, new solutions for propulsion, navigation, communications and care of the crew will be needed.
Speed@Seawork aims to fill that niche by offering a great opportunity for new exhibitors and the many existing Seawork exhibitors, to service this dynamic and growing market.
Day one of Speed@Seawork will enable boat builders and operators to showcase fast boats and for specialist equipment manufacturers to come together to share innovation and best practice in the sector. Sea trials will also take place in the challenging conditions offered by the Solent and English Channel.
Day two will see the new Speed@Seawork Conference cover topics including hull design, vessel building, propulsion, navigation and communication, in addition to biomechanics and crew welfare.
Seawork International in 2018 will mark 21 successful years supporting Europe’s commercial marine businesses.
