Seawork successful for Safehaven Marine

The boatbuilder has exhibited at Seawork every year since 1996 and finds it the best platform for reaching the commercial workboat market it operates in. This year Safehaven found the show very successful for introducing new customers and re-establishing relationships with past clients as well as manufacturers.

Safehaven Marine has now been awarded the contract to supply a second Interceptor 48 pilot vessel to the Port of Liverpool. This follows on from the delivery of Skua to the port in early 2011.

This second order is further testimony to the strong, successful and friendly working relationships Safehaven establishes with its customers. Having had Skua in successful operational evaluation over the past year, the Port’s pilots and crew have praised their new Interceptor for its abilities to increase the operational envelope. Previously, when conditions over the ‘bar’ reached 2m+, they were forced to close the port to shipping as it was not safe to transit pilots. However, since operating Skua they have been able to operate pilotage even when seas exceeded 3m+ and winds raeched 38 knots.

Safehaven’s pilot boats have established a strong reputation for their seakeeping abilities and are chosen by ports where the pilot boat must operate in all weather conditions. Safehaven Marine has over 16 years experience of manufacturing professional workboats, with some 80% of production dedicated specifically to pilot boats. An extensive range of GRP pilot boats is available in sizes from 11.7m to 18m.
