Teesport commissions multibeam assembly
PD Ports Teesport, the UK’s third largest port and among the ten biggest in Western Europe catering annually for 5,000 vessels and over 56 million tonnes of domestic and international cargo, has commissioned a Teledyne Odom MB2 multibeam system for operations aboard its survey vessel, ‘Tees Sentinel’.
The high accuracy system featuring a selectable swathe width of up to 140 degrees is complemented by a Hemisphere AtlasLink L-Band RTK positioning unit, a USM sonar mount, an Applanix Wavemaster INS and a Reson SVP70 for sound velocity measurements at the sonar head; also included is a Valeport Swift SVP for sound velocity measurements over whole water columns.
Delivery and installation of the complete assembly was carried out by US-based Odom’s regional UK distributors Saderet of the Isle of Man who report recent delivery of a comparable system configuration to a leading un-named inshore survey company in Suffolk.
