Diverse hands over CTV on show at Seawork

NR Alpha was added to the fleet shortly after sister crew transfer vessel NR Predator.

The two vessels are 27 metres in length, can take 24 passengers and will be based at Lowestoft.

NR Marine says extensive computational fluid dynamics was used to develop a hull form that incorporates an ultra fine entry bow for good head sea performance and tower access, with high reserves of buoyancy above the main chine for good sea-keeping performance.

The Storm Class also has resistance reducing ‘solutions’ integrated into the underbody, which ensures very low noise. Diverse says its hull design reduces drag by 16% compared with other 27m vessels.

Four Volvo Penta main engines power the vessel, giving it a service speed of 26 knots and a maximum speed of 30 knots.

NR Alpha has been delivered under Diverse Marine’s Finance and Lease Programme, which it launched last year. It brings the number of vessels to be delivered under the scheme to three this year.

Under the scheme, clients do not have to source construction finance and it means Diverse can offer vessels on a lease/hire purchase model with 05 deposit.

NR Marine, which is based in Great Yarmouth in southern England, has been chartering CTVs and workboats for 20 years. It also manages turbines in construction, commissioning and operational phases.
