World ECDIS Day
Hamburg’s Elb-Panorama Penthouse overlooking the City’s harbour is the venue for the first-ever World ECDIS Day on 16 September. More than 300 marine electronic navigation stakeholders are likely to be present at the non-profit initiative for day-long discussions, seminars, workshops and test labs.
A visit to a leading local training and simulation centre providing crew tutoring, simulation technology and port simulation studies is among main agenda issues which also include presentations by representatives of the Federal German Maritime & Hydrographic Agency (BSH) and the UK Hydrographic Office. Proceedings conclude with evening award ceremonies for Best ECDIS implementation 2015 as well as those for Lifetime Achievement and Innovation.
Cost of registration per head, covering also lunch and formal receptions, is €195 plus VAT with any resulting profit being donated to maritime research and rescue organisations. Further details at www.world-ecdis-day.com .
