Multraship’s Multratug 3 and Multratug 19 were deployed to Landévennec in France for the tow of the French naval vessels Duguay-Trouin (D611) from Landévennec and the Loire (A615) from Brest with destination metal recycling company Galloo N.V. in Ghent, Belgium. Multratug 3 and 9 are both Damen ASD Tug 3213 tugs with bollard pulls of 95t and 83t according to company information.

For the fourth year running Resolve Marine’s Resolve Pioneer, the only privately funded salvage tug in North America has been awarded the distinguished AMVER Award.

The award acknowledges Resolve’s continued investment in its continuously crewed vessels and resources ensuring safe transit and environmental protection with the APC Alaska/OPA90 compliance services. Based in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, Resolve Pioneer is a core asset for Resolve benefitting both clients and USCG AMVER criteria.

Still contributing at a respectable age of 42 years Resolve Pioneer was built as Pioneer Service for Tidewater Inc/Zapata Marine as an offshore tug/supply ship and converted in 1990 into what is now described as a pollution control vessel but still including Towing Services in its ABS class notation.

Landfall Marine Contractors BV has reported it has been selected for the commercial management of EMS Offshore’s newbuild tug EMS Tug.

Delivered in 2019, EMS Tug is a shallow draught, anchor-handling Damen Shoalbuster 2711 delivering 3,500bhp and 45.2tbp via Caterpillar main engines. Additional to the standard Heila deck crane and double-drum winch the vessel also has a 30t SWL A-frame and a moonpool integrated in the push-bow. At the time of writing it is in the Netherlands inland waterway system to the north of the country.

Damen Shipyards Group has appointed Marc van Heyningen as chief operations officer replacing Jan-Wim Dekker who started as chief commercial officer at the start of this year.

Mr van Heyningen has a MSc in Civil Structural Engineering from Delft University and his previous role was vice president of operations at Fluor Company headquarters in Dallas Texas. He has held various general and operations management position in for example, the Netherlands, UK, India, and the USA. The appointment completes Damen’s executive board comprising five appointees headed by CEO Arnout Damen.
