Lifting capacity lifted by Kleven’s new dock
Kleven Maritime is centred in Norway, with activities largely taking place in the company’s two yards, Kleven Verft AS and Myklebust Verft AS.
Largely involved in innovative newbuilds, the company wanted to expand its service activities and although there was already a floating dock 162m long with a capacity of 6,000 tons in place in Myklebust, Kleven decided to go for something larger.
Kleven replaced this with a bigger floating dock. Bought and towed in from Poland, it has an overall length of 180m, a maximum inside beam of 28m and the total lifting capacity is boosted to a hefty 15,000 tons.
The new facility will deal with dry dock services taking on propulsion equipment, conversions, painting and other activities.
