Lifeboats and davits testing
SWL Rope Lifting and Testing Ltd has been approved as an Independent Service Provider for the Annual Servicing and Testing of lifeboats and davits with approval from Lloyds Register.
Chris Tuck, marine director, SWL, said: “To offer this new service with our existing engineering capability for inspection and testing of lifting equipment and Gangways supported by our ‘Sure Cert’ web based management system will ensure our partners remain compliant with legislation.”
He added that this will enable the firm to offer the marine industry a ‘one stop shop’ in the event of equipment failure, which will include the supply of new or replacement equipment.
SWL engineers will carry out all tasks, including maintenance tasks minimising down time and disruption, and can react both in the UK and abroad as requested.
Once testing/inspection has been completed, all certification will be issued via Sure Cert giving access to defect reports and history of each inspection in keeping with current safety legislation.
