The affordable DSC VHF
Exhibiting at Seawork International on stand B 133, Standard Horizon announces the arrival of the new GX1200E Eclipse DSC+.
Based on the same advanced die-cast aluminium chassis as the previous GX1100E, the new set has been updated with user-programmable soft keys on the fascia for easy menu operation. This includes channel selection buttons, high and low power selection and quick access to Channel 16.
The microphone also features Clear Voice Noise Reduction Technology, which cleverly filters out any unwanted background wind or engine noise to help with clearer transmissions.
The GX1200E remains one of the smallest fixed DSC VHF Class D sets on the market, measuring just 2.4”H x 6.1”W x 6.7”D, (61mmH x 155mmW x 170mmD) yet despite its ultra-compact dimensions there has been no compromise on features. The front panel is fully waterproof to the stringent IPX7 standard (one meter submersion for 30 minutes) and the set can be flush mounted, making it ideal for use on all types of craft, especially when space is at a premium.
For boats heading into the waterways of Europe, the mandatory ATIS (Automatic Transmitter Information Service) can be fully programmed and switched on and off via the front panel. Another useful safety feature is a time-out facility that limits transmission time to 5 minutes, thus preventing the accidental jamming of the main calling channels.
The GX1200E is backed by Standard Horizon’s three-year waterproof guarantee, and retails at just £119.95 including VAT.
