Diver Master salvage

The Danish tug ‘Diver Master’ sank at the Port of Esbjerg on 4 August 2014 while assisting the tall ship ‘Kreuzenshtern’ under departure. Thanks to this being a heavily trafficked area, a rapid salvage operation was required.

Diver Master was salvaged on the weekend of 17-18 August by J.A.Rederiet. The company used a set of short current slacks to manage this job, which involved lifting the tug from the seabed and towing her underwater to the quayside, where she was refloated with bags and a dock crane.

It was the third salvage job in one week for J.A. Rederiet, who refloated two yachts at Randers which were sunk due to an incident with a coaster and at the time of writing were also dealing with another yacht aground outside Bogense.
