Damen and Sydney City Marine join forces

The Damen ASD Tug 2810 Svitzer Warang received its five-year special survey including a full paint job above and below the waterline, the total package completed on time and on budget. It was also the first occasion Sydney City Marine used its new ship cradle, a facility capable of accommodating tugs of up to 500 tons with the prospect of the yard being able to handle the majority of harbour tugs on Australia’s east coast.

The MOU between the two companies allows Damen to provide technical assistance and engineering capacity along with parts from its service hub in Brisbane. This was demonstrated with the Svitzer docking where supply of parts outside the normal package was coordinated by Damen’s network in both Australia and the Netherlands.
