The Patrol 12 RIB designed and built by Baltic Workboats represents the Estonian shipbuilder’s new generation of high-speed interceptors.
BWB claims that its high speed, superior manoeuvrability and durability make this boat an irreplaceable asset for any navy or law enforcement unit.
It is designed to perform in a range of roles including; counter-piracy, counter-terrorism, law enforcement, patrol and search and rescue.
Aside from the armament options that we don’t talk about in Maritime Journal, the RIB offers a range of benefits including; detachable wheelhouse, shock mitigating adjustable/removable seats, a stepped hull design for drag reduction at high speeds (up to 65kn), watertight lockers for loose equipment and an adjustable telescopic mast for comms equipment.
Equipment on the options list include; thermal imaging/IR cameras, search lights, trim tabs and self righting bag.
The design has a modular deck layout, allows different propulsion options and is designed for operations in heavy weather up to sea state 5. The model meets the latest relevant Classification Society rules and Flag requirements.
