Seatools pre-piling deployed at Taiwan wind farm

Seatools has successfully delivered and put to use its pre-piling template equipment at the Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm project in Taiwan.

Seatools, in close collaboration with CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), is responsible for the design of the pile template’s metrology and control system, encompassing all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software components.

The scope also includes hydraulic and mechanical systems dedicated to template levelling and precise pile positioning.

Seatools said it used advanced simulations to help achieve a smooth commissioning of equipment. Each simulation is extensively tested under various operational conditions prior to use to reduce the need for on-site modifications or calibration.

The project uses both a vibratory hammer and an impact hammer for pile installation. This mixed-method approach led Seatools to undertake a detailed evaluation, ensuring the equipment’s structural integrity and operational reliability under the varied loads imposed by both the vibratory and impact methods.
