Three survey vessels set sail for Danish wind farm

TotalEnergies owns 85% of the site, with European Energy owning the remaining 15%, and it is due to come online in 2029.

Jammerland is off the west coast of Zealand, the largest island in Denmark, which is also home to the capital Copenhagen.

Just 16 wind turbines will make up the 240MW wind farm, which means each will have a generating capacity of 15MW and stand at 256 metres in height.

Belgian fleet owner GeoXYZ has leased the following three vessels to the joint venture:

• Geo Ocean V, a multi-disciplined vessel that can operate around the clock. The 54m long vessel has 24 berths and diesel/electric hybrid propulsion
• Geo Surveyor V, a catamaran built in 2010 with a length of 7.9 metres and width of 2.5 metres and for daytime surveys only
• Geo Surveyor X, a 20.5m x 7.5m catamaran with accommodation for 12 passengers and three crew, also for daytime work.

All three vessels will dock in Kerteminde and Nyborg until the surveys are completed in August.

The same vessels will be used for geophysical surveys for the Lillebælt Syd wind farm, located between Sønderborg and Assens. These surveys are set to begin in April.

In addition to vessel-based surveys, drone flights from the coast will also be conducted to gather further data.
