Award winner launches two products
Marine electronics and NMEA specialist Actisense has launched two products that it says aim to solve critical on-board connectivity challenges.
The PRO-NDC-1E2K features five NMEA 0183 inputs and two isolated inputs, ‘packing the power’ of NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 conversion.
Both protocols can stream at high speed over the ethernet, says Actisense, thanks to a copper ethernet connection.
Seawork regular Actisense has also released a new NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi gateway, WGX-1, a multi-functional gateway that provides a connection between NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 bi-directionally and can cast both protocols over Wi-Fi.
“Now, for the first time, customers can seamlessly stream data over high speed ethernet, no matter whether NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 data,” said Actisense CEO, Phil Whitehurst. “Add the fact that this is the first such device with all three protocols that is also Type Approved, and you have a powerful solution to suit vessels of different classes with ease.”
The product launch coincides with Actisense winning the Manufacturer of the Year award at the 2024 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Conference and Expo for the third consecutive year.
Held every year in the US, this year the show was hosted on Rhode Island.
