Goodchild confirms two new contracts
Goodchild Marine has announced a contract with Estuary Services for an ORC 136 fast patrol craft and a second contract with new client Bridgewater for a ORC 121 fast patrol craft.
Announcing the contracts for the pilot boats at Seawork 2019, Alan Goodchild, managing director of Goodchild Marine, said contracts were signed last week for the 136, which is the second vessel of its kind to be ordered by Estuary Services and will be delivered early next year. Contracts are being signed now for the 121, which is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2020.
” We have 40 staff, so this is fantastic news because we have continuity of work for a substantial number of months,” said Mr Goodchild.
He added: “The owners of the new boats appreciate that the ORC is a serious pilot boat and can deliver a 40% reduction in fuel.”
The ORC 136 and ORC 121 are designed by Pantocarene Limited with fuel efficiency in mind. The vessels both have an advanced double chine hull with forward ‘beak’ for good internal volume and roll damping.
Mr Goodchild said there were two more ORC 136 vessels in-build for Briggs Marine.
There are 160 ORCs in service now.
