Salvaging the ‘Dali’ after fatal bridge collapse

Wreckage from the bridge fell on the fore part of the container ship (Unified Command)

Salvage and inspections are under way to get the Dali container vessel untangled and raised, and work out how to prevent the Baltimore bridge incident happening again.

Two of the bridge workers were rescued, two bodies were recovered and the remaining four are now assumed not to have survived. No serious injuries were reported to the 21 crew and two pilots on the container vessel.
