Salvors battle blazes and spills as new ISU leader takes the helm

Resolve Marine used the hot tap method to remove oil from a sunken vessel off Indonesia (ISU)

Major blazes have been included in the International Salvage Union’s latest round-among sinkings and spills, as new leader Captain Leendert Muller takes the helm at the ISU.

Smit Salvage had two fires to deal with, the first a 15,000TEU container ship Marie Maersk, whose cargo caught fire while she was on passage off Liberia travelling from Rotterdam to Asia.
