Rix Shipping was formed in 1950 making it the oldest company within the JR Rix & Sons group of companies. A family-owned business with a history spanning more than 140 years.
Due to continued business growth, Rix Shipping are looking to add a Marine Service engineer to their experienced team.
As a Fitter / Service Engineer you will be working within a dedicated and experienced team providing planned and reactive maintenance on board our fleet of vessels based on the Humber and occasionally further afield.
Experience with engines, propulsion, pumps, hydraulics, and basic electrical skills, along with the ability to hit the ground running in a busy working environment is required.
Requirements:
- Full Apprenticeship / NVQ 3
- Ability to carry out planned and reactive works on a variety of equipment on board vessels supporting the crew
- Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
- Maintaining records of work carried out, ordering of spares and consumables
- Undertake H&S, Technical and other training as required
- Full driving license

Working hours are 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday with a call out rota, a degree of flexibility is required due to the nature of the role,
Salary: £35000-40000 DOE
