The 2025 Seawork Awards winners were announced last night, Tuesday June 10, during a packed ceremony held at the Waterfront Restaurant on site on the first day of Seawork, Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition.
The Seawork Awards celebrated the outstanding individuals and innovative companies that comprise the vibrant and productive commercial marine industry.
The awards evening was hosted by Maritime Journal editor Debbie Mason and was supported by MC & DJ Mark Covell. Debbie began with the announcement of the Innovations Showcase Category Award winners, that were sponsored this year by the Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) and the winners were presented with their awards by SMI’s CEO, Tom Chant MBE.
The Innovations Showcase gives exhibitors the opportunity to demonstrate the latest in equipment, services, projects, and vessels introduced in the last 12 months since the last Seawork Exhibition.
The Innovations Category Awards went to:
Vessel Design & Construction - Vessev for its VS9 Electric Foiling Vessel.
Marine Equipment & Electronics - Powerboat Training UK and Maritime for it’s Harbour/VTS & RYA Radar cloud-based simulation.
Marine Power & Propulsion (Electrification & Future Fuels) - Teignbridge Propellers with their Carbon Fibre Clamp on Blade Propeller.
Security & Safety - Viking Lifesaving Equipment, for its Cyclone YouSafe Immersion Suit, tailored specifically for women.
Environmental / Renewable Energy- Delta Xero, for it’s nano-filtration of oils and fuels with built in water coalescer.
The coveted ‘Spirit of Innovation’ trophy was presented to; Loki Dynamics, for its Revolutionary VR headsets, the seasickness solution.
Debbie then proceeded to welcome the sponsors of the category awards to the stage who presented the following awards:
The Maritime Sustainability Award sponsored by GreenPort went to Cetasol for their project Intelligent Speed and Fuel Gauge.
The Marine Civils Best Project Award sponsored by Maritime Contracts Journal, was awarded to TMS for the Polperro Outfall Project.
New for 2025 the Subsea and Underwater Intervention Award, sponsored by Maritime Journal, was presented to Atlantis Marine Power with WUWLED
The Young Person’s Development Award, sponsored by Svitzer was issued to Sara Kapdi from Carnival.
The Maritime Professional of the Year Award, this year sponsored by Haven-Knox Johnston was presented to Mehmet Belibagli from Volvo Penta.
The award for Outstanding Contribution, went to Giles Barkley from Chartwell Marine.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Mercator Media was presented by Mercator Media’s CEO, Andrew Webster and awarded to two winners; Robin George from McMurdo and Frank Dixie from PSP Worldwide Logistics.
