A new upgrade to Next Ocean’s flagship product, Motion Radar, is on the horizon.

Designed for Service Operation Vessels in Offshore Wind, the release will deliver improved accuracy and performance. Enabling real-time warnings for large waves and vessel motions with even greater precision.
The development is supported by EMEC and the West of Orkney Windfarm and will help offshore crews reduce risk and increase operational uptime. Stay tuned for the official launch.

Matthew Finn, Commercial Director at EMEC said:
“Congratulations to Trios Renewables, Seaview Sensing and Next Ocean. The West of Orkney Windfarm will be the first offshore wind project to take on the powerful resources west of the UK. This presents a number of challenges and the innovations brought forward in the first call will all help to reduce risk and uncertainties in building and operating the wind farm. EMEC will continue to support the winning companies throughout the delivery phase of their projects providing them with access to inhouse experts, data sets and our offshore testing facilities where required.
Dr. Peter Naaijen, CTO at Next Ocean said:
“We are very pleased with the opportunity offered by the Offshore Wind R&I Programme to demonstrate and further optimise our technology for the challenging environment and applications at West of Orkney Windfarm. Harsh wave conditions are right up our alley and we’re looking forward to increasing operational weather windows for the windfarm’s transport, installation, operations and maintenance, and at the same time making the vessel crews’ lives easier and safer.”
