New Odom multibeam system
Odom Hydrographic, the recently-acquired Teledyne company in the US, has announced development of MB2, a fully integrated multibeam echosounder designed for rapid mobilisation on smaller vessels.
It is ideal, the company says, for shallow water survey and dredging organisations as well as port and harbour authorities and other users seeking a simple-to-use, high-resolution system.
Featuring a dedicated cylindrical transmit array and a broad range of sounding frequencies, system options include an integrated GNSS-aided INS together with an integrated real-time SVP sensor to simplify installation and calibration, the system is capable of sounding a swathe of up to 140º in depths down to 110m. With 243 bit raw data, both water column and seabed data can be acquired within controller software. User selectable frequencies range from 200 to 450kHz.
Introduced at the recent Ocean Business 2015 event in Southampton, Odom says the system is available in Europe via its specialist distributors in France, Netherlands, Russia and the UK.
