Trials Expand for New ECDIS Service
Shell has become the ninth large international shipping company to join sea trials of the new Admiralty ECDIS Service ahead of its official launch in the autumn. The service, developed by the UK Hydrographic Office to provide official electronic chart coverage on a global scale, combines Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs) and Admiralty Raster Charts (ARCS) in a single package. The trials are being conducted to test and prove all aspects of the service.
