Easydredge fills the gap at SMM
IHC Merwede has launched a new budget range of small hopper dredgers under the name of Easydredge at SMM in Hamburg.
This is in response to the increasing global demand for smaller dredgers. The sophisticated design, standardised components and smart production choices make the Easydredge vessel an extremely cost effective concept with a short delivery time. The Easydredge series bridges the gap between the existing line-up of IHC Beagle standard hopper dredgers and the standard IHC Beaver cutter suction dredgers.
Available in three sizes (Easydredge 1300, 2300 and 3300), the new vessels can be tailor-made using option packages. They can be optmised for maintenance dredging, land reclamation, and the extraction of sand and gravel at sea. The option packages can also be added later, making for a highly flexible concept. The vessels are produced using the IHC Merwede network of partner sites or on a local-for-local basis.
The Easydredge range incorporates the latest technology and engines to ensure green propulsion and durability. This reduces fuel consumption and will help the dredging market to meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations. The Easydredge vessels already comply with the requested requirements for 2016 (Tier 4) and are suitable for unrestricted navigation.
The Easydredge 1300measures 73m LOA, with a beam of 14.6m, draught of 4.6m, speed of 11 knots, dredging depth of 12m to 20m through a suction pipe of 500 – 600mm, and has a hopper capacity of 1,300 – 1,600 m3.
The Easydredge 2300 measures 84.95m LOA, has a beam of 16m and a draught of 5.5m, a speed of 12.5 knots, a dredging depth range of 15m to 25m through a 700mm suction pipe and a hopper capacity of 2,300 – 2,800 m3.
The Easydredge 3300 measures 97m LOA, with a beam of 16.5m and a draught of 6.3m. It has a speed of 13 knots, will dredge at 15 – 40m through a 700 – 800mm suction pipe, and a hopper capacity of 3,300-3,700m3.
