Ecospan targets new sectors

First time Seawork exhibitor, Ecospan Environmental Ltd, was at the show this year to drum up new business with a particular emphasis on targeting harbour masters.

The company has recently invested heavily in further equipment and skills training to incorporate new services and expand existing services to other sectors, including dredging.

Also on the radar are port and harbour developers, local and harbour authorities, water utilities and oil companies, as well as the regulators themselves including Natural England and the Environment Agency.

Ecospan has a number of well-equipped survey vessels some of which are available for hire with a skipper including a well-equipped 7.9 m twin engine Sea Cheetah catamaran and a 6.5 m twin engine MCA category 3 RIB.

Recent work for a dredging contractor at the UK’s Kingsbridge Estuary in Salcombe included environmental monitoring and ecological impact assessment in the estuary both prior to and following maintenance dredging operations.

Ecospan specialises in ecotoxicity testing, ecological investigations, sediment and water sampling, diving and hydrographic surveys, environmental modelling, contaminated land investigation and environmental consultancy.
