Van Oord to build quaywall at Moerdijk
Van Oord has been awarded a contract to construct a quay wall and a dock in Moerdijk in the Rotterdam area of the Netherlands.
The structure will consist of a 600m sheetpile combi-wall with wing walls. The contract also includes dredging along the quay wall and excavating the dock. In total Van Oord will remove approximately 120,000 m³ of soil.
The contract is worth more than €9m, and the client is the Moerdijk Port Authority. The work has already begun and the project should be completed by autumn 2009.
