Trelleborg webinar for LNG sector
Trelleborg has launched an on-demand webinar and a new whitepaper for the LNG sector, which looks at the difficulties of systems integration requirements in the FLNG market.
“With floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) representing the majority of FLNG projects currently being executed, we felt that this was an important area to address,” said Richard Hepworth, president, Marine Systems, Trelleborg.
The new whitepaper, Avoid the Disconnect, discusses docking, mooring and transfer in depth and looks at the differing regulations on design requirements between jetty, FSRUs and LNG carriers. It also highlights the importance of centralised monitoring and communications systems.
The on-demand webinar, A Comprehensive Approach to FLNG Docking and Mooring Systems, looks at the issues in more depth, discussing the pitfalls of considering docking and mooring systems elements for FSRU projects in isolation and the impact of mooring system arrangement on systems integration.
“With more than two entities required to interface with each other, systems integration becomes increasingly complex as the requirements of all three entities needs to be considered holistically. This is essential to ensure optimum solution for all three elements, and minimise operational difficulties down the line,” added Mr Hepworth.
