Aberdeen hosts Hydro14

Over 300 delegates from around the world are expected at the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies’ 22nd Hydro Conference at Aberdeen’s Exhibition & Conference Centre from 28-30 October.

Organised by The Hydrographic Society UK under the theme Energy & Enterprise, the three-day event will feature nearly 50 major exhibiting companies and organisations as well as a series of specialist technical presentations by leading experts from Azerbaijan, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, UK and the US.

Main conference topics are Data Management & Integration, Future Developments (which will also include selected student presentations), Tidal & Sea Level Monitoring, Low Impact Offshore Exploration, Standards, Data Quality & Resilience, Education & Training, Subsea Engineering Surveying. The programme also includes a special International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) stakeholder forum which will further discuss and explore mutual interactions between the Monaco-based inter-governmental agency and industry at large.

In-situ workshops and local technical visits are among other agenda items along with a reception for delegates in the Aberdeen Maritime Museum and a conference dinner in the city’s historic Elphinstone Hall.
