Ashtead completes £7m investment programme

Announced last month at the Oceanology International exhibition in London was a £3m order for Sonardyne International 6G acoustic positioning systems. It follows an earlier order of similar value for Sonardyne equipment comprising Compatt 6, GyroCompatt 6, RovNav, Scout and Ranger 2 USBL systems and WSM 6 transponders.

According to Ashtead Technology’s CEO, Alan Pirie, both orders reflect non-stop global demand for Sonardyne 6G equipment, thus reinforcing the company’s position as a major subsea equipment rental supplier. Also at OI, it announced a separate order in excess of £1m for high precision inertial navigation Rovins, Phins and new Octans Nano equipment from French manufacturer, iXBlue.
