Atlas multibeam sounders for China
Atlas Hydrographic of Bremen, Germany reports the sale of a further two of its Fansweep 20 shallow water multibeam echosounders to Shanghai Da Hua Surveying & Mapping, a subsidiary of the Shanghai Dredging Company.
The 200 kHz systems will complement a similar one originally commissioned by the Chinese organisation over ten years ago.
Scheduled to begin operation by the end of this year, both new systems will include proprietary Hydromap Control software for sensor steering and control, Hypack and Hysweep data acquisition suites and Ixsea Octans combined motion sensor and gyro compass facilities. Other ancillary equipment comprises AML Oceanographic MicroSv keel sound velocity probes for determination of water sound velocity at the sounders’ V-shaped transducers.
