CARISKongsberg MoU
Canadian hydrographic software specialists CARIS and Kongsberg Maritime of Norway have signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering collaboration and delivery of CARIS HIPS/SIPS multibeam processing software to existing and prospective Kongsberg clients.
With over 650 exhibitors representing nearly 400 industry disciplines, eight conference sessions and 12 vessels berthed at the neighbouring Royal Victoria Dock, participants were almost spoilt for choice by an enticing array of options in keeping with a thriving industry intent on meeting needs and aspirations dictated in part by threats posed by global climate changes.
The software suites comprise a single off the shelf product featuring advanced statistical based data cleaning and processing methodologies for ocean mapping applications.
The agreement will extend software facilities for Kongsberg’s series of Simrad multibeam sounders which will continue to be marketed with proprietary Neptune post-processing software options.
