GEO.xyz expands fleet
GEO.xyz of Belgium has added a further survey and support vessel to its growing fleet, Geosurveyor VI.
Designed to the company’s own specifications and capable of operating up to 60nm from safe haven, the multi-purpose craft is able to carry out comprehensive hydrographic and geophysical survey operations in addition to facilitating crew transfers to offshore wind farms.
Versatile surveys are possible using a variety of multibeam sounders, such as those from R2 Sonic, Reson and Simrad. For sub-bottom profiling, several in-house systems are also available for deployment. All data processing and cleaning can be completed onboard while different types of positioning systems can be utilised, depending on available working areas.
With secondary bases in France, Netherlands and the UK, GEO.xyz is currently engaged in completing geophysical studies for prospective wind farms off French coastal regions. Recent UK operations have included construction support surveys at the Milford Haven South Hook LNG terminal in Wales, Europe’s largest facility for regasification and storage of liquefied natural gas imported from Qatar.
