Hydro 2010 set for Germany – by David Goodfellow

Hosted and organised by Federation member The German Hydrographic Society (Deutsche Hydrographische Gesellschaft), the three day event will feature a main conference, an exhibition of equipment and services and technical workshops.

Sponsors of the event, which is expected to attract a worldwide audience of well over 300 delegates, include Atlas Elektronik, Fugro, Innomar Technologie, Kongsberg Maritime, L3-Elac Nautik and Reson. Staged in a local hotel overlooking the Baltic Sea, it will provide a forum for reviews of hydrography in and around the Baltic as well as wider issues affecting inland waterways and other concerns.

Scheduled topics include Hydrographic Surveys, Geophysics, Survey Platforms & Positioning, Coastal Mapping, Electronic Charting, Tides & Currents, Data Management, Marine Renewables, Education & Standards. English language abstracts of no more than 300 words for presentations on any of these or related topics are required by the organisers by no later than 31 March.
