Hydro8 proceedings available
Proceedings of last month’ s Hydro8 Symposium in Liverpool, which featured 60 exhibitors and drew over 350 delegates from 18 countries, are now available direct from the event’ http://www.ths.org.uk’ , ‘ 1228125156717’ , ‘ ); } return false
The 108 page publication comprises a series of 23 papers over 8 sessions by leading survey specialists from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden and the UK. Individual session topics featured are Coastal Mapping Techniques, Data Handling & Presentation, Tides & Currents, Standards & Training, The Marine Environment, Precise Positioning, Hydrography for Marine Renewables, and Coastal Mapping Applications. The publication is available via surface post for £50 (pounds), although postage costs may vary upwards for overseas subscribers.
Meanwhile, the IFHS has announced that next year’s Hydro event will be hosted by The Hydrographic Society of South Africa in Cape Town from 10 to 12 November. A 2010 conference in Rostock in either October or early November is also tentatively planned by The German Hydrographic Society.
