Hydrographic Society UK Fellowship Scheme
The Hydrographic Society UK, which represents organisations and individuals of the domestic hydrographic profession and associated disciplines at all levels of expertise as well as a sizeable overseas membership, has launched a Post-Nominal & Fellowship Scheme open to student, graduate, individual and retired members.
Introduced to enhance the professional status of members, the Scheme offers three levels of accreditation. All paid-up Student and New Graduate members are automatically entitled to use the designation of Associate Member, AHydSoc. After graduation and subsequent progression to full individual membership, they will in turn be eligible for upgrading to an MHydSoc designation otherwise available to all other active and retired members.
Following continuous paid-up membership of five years, individual and retired members will be eligible for nomination and consideration for Fellowship of The Society, FHydSoc, under the auspices of its Fellowship Committee. Criteria for nomination include a recognised outstanding contribution to the profession of hydrography or an associated discipline, pre-eminence within a chosen field of endeavour, responsibility for a significant development or concept, and a sustained or exceptional contribution to The Society’s continued development.
