Irish Marine Data Website
The Marine Institute of Ireland in Galway has established a new website for scientific data and information on Irish coastal and marine waters (www. marinedataonline. ie).
For Europe, a dedicated consultancy unit is to be based in Great Yarmouth as part of Fugro Ltd in Wallingford. The Wallingford office already carries out extensive consultancy work for engineering geology, geohazards and geotechnical engineering while also operating one of the world’s most advanced soil testing laboratories. It will now be known as Fugro GeoConsulting Ltd.
Content presently comprises around 500 entries with information on data available from various state agencies.
Collaboration is also underway with the Ordnance Survey for integration with its National Geoportal development project.
