iSurvey positioning support agreements

iSurvey, the Norwegian offshore support group with subsidiary bases in Aberdeen and Singapore, has been awarded a multi-year frame agreement with Nexans Norway AS covering provision of navigation, positioning and survey services for cable lay operations aboard its specialist support vessel, ‘Nexans Skagerrak’.

Nexans Skagerrak, Nexans Norway’s 118m cable laying vessel for which iSurvey is providing an extensive range of support facilities under a multi-year frame agreement

Services to be provided include positioning and monitoring during cable lay and trenching operations together with as-trenched and as-laid reporting and charting supported by subsea positioning using an IKM Subsea Merlin work-class ROV.

Anja Bergstrøm Karthum, iSurvey’s commercial director, says the new agreement marks a continuation of support for work on Nexans Skagerrak which first began in 2007. It also enables the company to further develop its capabilities within subsea power cable lay markets, he adds. Meanwhile the company’s Singapore division has been commissioned by Solstad Offshore Asia Pacific to supply positioning and survey support for its 2016 pipeline and platform installation programme in Thailand on behalf of Chevron. Work aboard its 18,000 dwt lay barge, NorCe Endeavour, covers positioning support for installation of numerous pipelines and platforms, including monitoring during jacket setting plus final positioning levelling and general survey assistance also required for ROV subsea operations. Contract work began in mid-January and is expected to last 200 days.
