New Gardline vessel mobilised
Geophysical and hydrographic survey specialists Gardline Geosurvey of Great Yarmouth UK have added to their vessel fleet with mobilisation of MV Ivero.
The vessel is now upgraded to carry out operations ranging from geophysics, benthic sampling and shallow geotechnics to post-construction monitoring and cable burial studies.
With accommodation for 16 personnel and a 25 sq/m purpose built laboratory, the vessel features a high resolution survey sensor suite comprising a hull mounted Kongsberg multibeam system, Differential GPS and acoustic positioning, sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, survey and sampling winches. Other facilities include a fully integrated seismic capability and a modular assembly for rapid reconfiguration between differing survey tasks.
Operating in water depths from 5m to 150m, MV Ivero has a 24 hour capability with a typical continuous endurance of 21 days. Following a major benthic sampling operation for a large wind farm development site off the East Anglian coast, the 34m vessel is due to begin geophysical surveys for another wind farm project offshore of Germany.
