New Tritech systems
Hydrographic surveys, seabed asset inspections and pre and post-dredge assessments are among applications cited by Tritech International for its new Horizon multibeam echosounder, featuring extremely fast ping rates of up to 100Hz for high speed operations without compromising long track resolution.
For shallow water applications down to 120m, the system can be mobilised on a vessel to acquire survey data sets while for deeper water operations it can be deployed from an AUV or ROV platform. A wide swath width coverage of 120 degrees is possible and where required, two sonar heads can be linked together to form a dual head configuration for maximum swath coverage.
Tritech has also launched a new multibeam imaging sonar for AUV or ROV navigation, the Gemini 720i. Weighing only l.2kg in the water, the Aberdeen company says it combines the benefits of long range detection with high definition imaging techniques to produce optimum results.
