Oceanology International returns to London
London’s ExCel is once more the venue for this year’s biennial Oceanology International event from 9-11 March.
With over 500 exhibitors, several national pavilions, a major conference, fringe meetings and visiting ships, it is expected to attract a worldwide audience of well over 8,000 visitors.
As usual, hydrography will feature prominently along with four other core disciplines: Navigation & Positioning, Marine Environments, Geotechnics, and Ocean Observation & Forecasting. Specific topics scheduled as part of a free peer-reviewed conference organised in association with the Society for Underwater Technology include three sessions covering AUV Applications, Survey Sensors and Integrated Data Delivery.
An IMCA sponsored ROV seminar and a Careers Day hosted by IMarEST are among several key fringe gatherings while among vessels at the adjacent dockside will be those from No Limit Ships, Coastline Surveys, the Marine Institute of Ireland, and Gardline Surveys. Also promised is the Royal Navy’s HMS Cattistock, one of the world’s most advanced mine hunters, which also carries out route survey operations.
