Offshore contract for Nautronix
Nautronix in Aberdeen, UK has been awarded a five-year £1m contract by Surf Subsea of Houston and sub-contractor Ceona Offshore UK for provision of survey services in support of a new DP3 pipelay support vessel, ‘Polar Onyx’.
The contract covers initial survey support and mobilisation of the vessel in Europe prior to it commencing a year’s work offshore Brazil on behalf of the state oil concern, Petrobras. Services include supply of specialist personnel and equipment for onboard survey operations.
Earlier this year, Nautronix recorded an order for a dynamic positioning reference system for installation on Bollstar Dolphin, a new semi-submersible drilling rig under construction by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea on behalf of Dolphin Drilling. Due for delivery early next year, it is destined to operate in the UK North Sea at a rumoured day rate of $560,000.
