Orders for Unique System and Sonardyne
Unique System (UK), part of Unique Maritime Group based in Sharjah, UAE, has expanded its inventory of rental equipment with acquisition of 6G acoustic positioning systems worth over £1m from Sonardyne International.
The Aberdeen company, which specialises in providing advanced support for the diving and survey industries, says it plans to lease the equipment for use on a variety of offshore projects across Europe.
The 6G products utilise Sonardyne’s ultra-wideband width, digital ranging and telemetry protocols, offering ease of use, reliable performance and a versatility capable of meeting a broad range of subsea positioning and wireless communication applications.
Meanwhile, Sonardyne also reports that it has received an order valued at over £2.1m from Italian offshore turnkey contractor Saipem for six of its Sprint acoustically aided inertial navigation units and associated systems. All are destined for operation by Saipem in the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) natural gas field project some 90km offshore the North West Nile Delta in Egypt.
