SAAB Seaeye extends Panther ROV range
Panther XT Plus, a new ROV with a power to weight ratio claimed to be over double that of its nearest competitor, has been introduced by Saab Seaeye of Fareham in Hampshire UK.
Rated for operation at depths of 1,500m, it’s reportedly 30% faster than anything else of its type while holding steady in strong cross currents. It is thus ideal for survey operations.
The system’s front has been redesigned to accommodate industry standard seven function position feedback manipulators to provide heavy duty power and precise control, enabling faster completion of complex manipulator tasks. With a significantly increased payload over the standard Panther XT model, the new system can carry a greater range of tooling options for a wider range of tasks, including work, observation and survey.
Two systems have already been sold for delivery to customers in March, said Saab Seaeye sales director Matt Bates.
