Teledyne TSS previews AHRS & INS systems
Watford UK based Teledyne TSS has previewed its new series of advanced Saturn fibre-optic AHRS and INS (Attitude and Heading Reference and Inertial Navigation Systems) units, the outcome of a two year development programme.
Applications include navigation for fast ferries and yachts, subsea positioning for autonomous AUVs and ROVs, attitude and heading references for dynamically positioned platforms and full attitude data for hydrographic survey vessels.
The company claims that the series of four systems within two basic grades, Saturn 10 and Saturn 30, have been specifically designed to fulfill demanding maritime operations at affordable cost. All subsea versions using titanium casings are rated to 4,000m as standard and are said to be routinely maintenance free, making them ideal for deployment on all sizes of surface vessel and subsea vehicles. All feature heading, pitch, roll and heave outputs while also supporting raw output data formats.
