Teledyne TSS Swedish & Turkish contracts

Teledyne TSS of Watford UK, which recently supplied a further eight of its Meridian gyrocompasses for installation aboard Turkish Coast Guard patrol vessels, reports delivery of a Series 440 pipe and cable tracker to MMB AB of Gothenburg.

The Swedish survey company, which has previously rented 440 systems to map subsea cable routes around the world, plans to mount its new acquisition on its Sub-Atlantic Comanche workclass ROV and use it to identify routes of numerous cables that presently crisscross the bed of the Baltic Sea.

TSS 440 systems are typically mounted on ROVs and use pulse induction technology to detect targets in association with an advanced algorithm. Teledyne TSS says that it has sold over 100 systems since their introduction in 2003, most of them to oil, gas and submarine cable users for location and survey operations on or below seabeds at depths of 3,000m.
